Golf Supply House extends partnership

with PGA of Ontario

 

 

PICKERING, ON - Golf Supply House - the world's leader in the golf supply industry - is strengthening its commitment to the PGA of Ontario with an expanded multi-year agreement.

 

Golf Supply House will now be the title sponsor of the PGA of Ontario Fall Championship at Georgian Bay Club on September 18 and a presenting sponsor of the three-day Tour Championship at Legends on the Niagara from September 30 through October 2.

 

"We have benefited from a solid partnership with the PGA of Ontario since 2009, and to extend the agreement is a win-win opportunity for everyone," says Paul Cherrie, President of Golf Supply House. "We're delighted to now be part of two great events and look forward to deepening our relationships with the club pros from across Ontario.

 

Golf Supply House is one of the most dynamic companies in the golf industry. With more than 130 employees in Canada and the United States, it sells over 10,000 different products including everything from golf tees, pencils and divot repair tools, to golf flags, golf course furnishings & signage, to range equipment and so much more.

Since entering into the golf industry just five years ago, Cherrie has been quietly buying up businesses in both Canada and the United States to the point where the Golf Supply House is now the largest golf supply business in the world. Cherrie started the process back in 2008 with the purchase of Mississauga-based Nearly New Golf and followed it up buying Calgary-based Golf Supply House in 2010. More recently he's acquired Eagle One Golf Products and Fore-Par Group in the United States with a couple of other significant acquisitions in the works.

 

"I like to say that we operate in the meat & potatoes segments of the golf industry," Cherrie says, noting that Golf Supply House is also partners with the PGA of Canada as well as other PGA Zones across Canada. "We consider ourselves like "caddies to the golf industry" and nobody understands better the role of the caddie than a golf Pro.  Like a very good caddie, we would like to be that "go to" guy whom the Pro can trust and depend upon to be successful in business."

 

The 2013 PGA of Ontario Tour Championship will see Ontario's top professionals from each of the four tours: Regular, Assistants', Senior and Ladies compete for top honors at the Legends of the Niagara, Battlefield Golf Course with a pro-am on September 30th followed by two days of stroke competition on October 1-2.
