The PGA of Ontario continued their Player of the Year series on Tuesday at Blue Springs Golf Club with the Summer Challenge.  The Summer Challenge is a stableford scoring event and Blue Springs Golf Club was an excellent venue to host.

Danny King birdied his first hole and eagled his fourth, after that he was able to put it into cruise control and ride a smooth round all the way to the finish.  King added two more birdies and signed for a 4-under 68 and forty stableford points.  Greens were running quick at Blue Springs on Tuesday so King and the rest of the field needed to adjust their game.  King said after the round, "The greens were fast and after my quick start I knew if I stayed below the hole I wouldn't get myself into any unnecessary trouble."  King, who's had more time of late to play, is swinging a hot club and getting a win under his belt is a huge confidence boost going into next week's Canada Cup.

Merit Travel Golf Vacations was on scene hosting a one-hundred dollar closet to the pin challenge.  Chris Bevan was the recipient of a favourable member bounce and his ball rolled five feet from the pin.   Dennis Hendershott, Futures Summer Challenge Winner, rolled in five birdies of his own, finishing the round at 3-under 69 and with 39 stableford points taking second spot.  Brian Hadley, James Skrypec, Brian McCann, and Ron Kenesky round out the rest of the top 5.
