Patte sets new course record to win the Assistants Summer Championship

(Kitchener, Ont., July 12, 2012) - Doon Valley Golf Club was the site of the 2012 Great Lakes Tour PGA of Ontario Assistants Summer Championship, and what a glorious day it was!

A beautiful hot summer day with very little wind made it a perfect day for scoring.

The weather wasn't the only hot thing at Doon Valley. First year assistant Jacob Patte fired a sizzling 5 under 67 to set the new course record and claim the title! As good as his round was Patte was only one better than Brad Pemberton who shot 68.

"Today I was just very patient and took what the course gave me" said Patte when asked what the key to his record setting round was.

This is Patte's second victory of the year and with playing like that it likely won't be his last!

Congratulations Jacob, and thank you to Doon Valley and Great Lakes Tour for a spectacular Championship.
