Qualifications for Nomination

 

The Qualifications for Nomination are:

  • Nominators and Nominees MUST be a member in good standing of the PGA of Ontario.

  • Current members of the Board of Directors (PGA of Ontario or PGA of Canada) may not nominate a candidate or write letters of support for a nominee.

  • Open to PGA of Ontario members only who have earned the minimum membership category of Class "A" for 20 years or at the discretion of the Hall of Fame Committee and approved by the Board of Directors.

  • Must have at least one Nominating signature and one Seconding signature accompanied by a supporting letter from each.

  • Letters of support are to add clarity, verification, documentation, and support to the nomination and can come from PGA members, employers, professors etc. A maximum of six (6) letters can accompany the application.

  • If living, all nominees must complete a Background Check using http://sterlingbackcheck.ca/PGA-of-Canada. Results will be sent to, Darcy Kral, the PGA of Canada's Privacy Officer.

  • Current staff members employed by the PGA of Canada or any PGA of Canada Zone are not eligible for nomination until their term of employment has expired.  

  • Current members of the Board of Directors (PGA of Ontario or PGA of Canada) may not be nominated until their term of office has expired.   

  • Current members of the Hall of Fame Committee including the Chair are not eligible for nomination until their term of office has expired.    

  • The Hall of Fame Committee may (at their discretion) appoint candidates for nomination provided the nomination follows the normal process for consideration. However, members of the Hall of Fame Committee may NOT be a nominator, a seconder, or write a letter of support.
