Position Summary:

Midland Golf and Country Club is seeking an Apprentice Professional for the 2020 season.

This position will assist the Head Professional with all activities relating to the management of the golf operation with a focus on Lesson Programming and Junior Initiatives.

The successful candidate will be required to work in the Pro Shop during the shoulder seasons, and have the opportunity to lead Junior Camps, Clinics and all other Junior Programming during the summer months. This is a great opportunity for an energetic Professional who has a desire to develop and implement lesson and coaching programming with a keen and active membership.
 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service for members and guests
  • Assist in day to day golf operations, including tee time reservations, merchandising, retail sales
  • Oversee the club storage and cleaning staff and ensure all employees are working efficiently
  • Plan and run Junior and Adult lesson programs and clinics and develop initiatives that meet the needs of an active membership
  • Assist with the management of member and non-member events and leagues

 

Qualifications:

  • PGA of Canada member in good standing
  • Graduate or enrolled in a University, College or PGM Program
  • Proven experience working effectively at a high-paced member focused facility
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Computer literate, previous experience with Excel, Word and P.O.S.
  • Proven ability to plan and implement lesson programs for juniors and adults
     

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Weekly salary TBD based on qualifications
  • 90% off all lessons and clinics
  • Opportunity for significant summer camp income
