Victoria Park East and Valley Golf Clubs are semi-private facilities located in the Guelph area. Victoria Park East is an 18 hole, championship length par 71 golf course while Victoria Park Valley is a 27 hole, executive length course with a par of 31 on each nine.

Both golf courses offer a full-length driving range and practice facility. The successful applicant(s) will be based out of one of the two facilities depending on the candidate’s experience as well as the needs of the golf courses. Work at both facilities is possible throughout the golf season. There is also an opportunity for substantial teaching revenue at both facilities with the demand for lessons at an all time high.

Job Summary

To assist the Head Golf Professional and management in all day-to-day operations to ensure a positive customer experience. The successful candidate will also assist in staff supervision ensuring procedures are completed properly and efficiently.

General Duties:

• Opening/Closing procedures of Golf Shop and Clubhouse

• Tee time management – Handle incoming telephone calls and bookings

• Provide exceptional customer services, advice, and assistance to all guests/members

• Control and mange play; ensure guest check in and fee collection.

• Be informed on and promote all club activities and services.

• Assist with scoring and implementing leagues and club events.

• Ensure outside services duties are completed by continually monitoring backshop staff.

• Maintain communication with on-course marshals to ensure pace of play and etiquette is being monitored.

• Assist with all staff, shop cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities

Specific Duties may include (but not limited to):

• Organize and execute junior program including junior member events, clinics, and junior league.

• Plan and implement volunteer program for player assistants (scheduling, training etc.)

• Initial and on-going training of golf shop and back shop staff.

• Scoring and set up for leagues and club events.

• Handle lesson inquiries and work with Teaching Professionals to ensure lesson requests are booked promptly.

• Lead team of staff and volunteers for preparation and execution of corporate events.

• Able to handle a fast-paced environment.

• Self-starter and attention to detail.

• Demonstrates leadership, management, and organizational skills.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Compensation

 • Attractive hourly wage based on qualifications and experience.

Lessons:

• Private Lessons – 90% to Professional Staff

• Clinics – 75% to Professional Staff

• Junior Camps – 60% to Professional Staff

Benefits/Perks

• Meals – 1 meal per shift will be allowed. Not to include sundries or alcohol. A $200.00 per year food benefit will be added to your T4.

• PGA of Canada Dues – Will be reimbursed (if applicable)

• Clothing allowance will be provided.

• Playing privileges at both Victoria Park East and Victoria Park Valley.
