Associate / Assistant Golf Professional: St. Catharines Golf & Country Club

At this time, the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professional to assist with the day-to-day management of our golf operation.

We are a busy private club in the heart of downtown St. Catharines, ON. Offering additional amenities beyond golf such as fitness and curling, the club is open year-round and currently has a significant waiting list for membership.

The club has a proud tradition of hosting top golf events including the 2024 Ontario Men’s Amateur Championship and the 2025 World Junior Girls Championship. The Club is committed to being a partner to the game of golf and will continue to host events in the future.

Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day management of the golf operations under the guidance of the Head Golf Professional.
Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-Day Golf Shop Operations
  • Inventory Management
  • Retail Merchandising
  • Tournament Management
  • Golf Instruction
  • Club Fitting
  • Play Regular Golf with a Full Cross-Section of the Membership
  • Enthusiastically Support Golf and Events at the Club
Qualifications
  • PGA of Canada member in good standing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • High level of commitment and self-motivation
  • Strong ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the Jonas POS software, Club Unity Tee Time software and the Golf Genius Platforms are each an asset
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • A developed player looking to improve their game
  • Strong knowledge of equipment, apparel and accessories
  • Commitment to long-term career development
Compensation
Income window of $850 - $1100 per week - Final Negotiated Salary is Commensurate with Experience

St. Catharines G&CC is committed to a Positive Work-Life Balance. Although availability to work weekends and holidays is a requirement, our schedule is based on a 5-day work week, with additional further flexibility during the scheduling process.
