Associate Golf Professional

Forest City National Golfers Club is excited to be changing its category type and becoming a private golf club in 2022. We are looking for the proper candidate to assist in this transition to a newly formed golf club. FCN is a high-end facility in the NE corner of London and has been listed as a favourite by many golfers both local and out-of-town. The championship course was opened in 1992 and has hosted many major events over the years such as the Canadian Tour Ontario Open and the Canadian PGA Championship and is a challenge for all levels.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for any golf professional and we are looking for someone with the right energy to match this position.

Job Summary
The Associate Golf Professional will be expected to lead the staff in private club level service, interact daily with the membership, facilitate club and outside events, assist in managing the retail operation in the Proshop, and other golf club management duties. The successful candidate will be available to teach, as well as play with the membership at certain times.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the total golf operations in a professional and efficient manner in the absence of the Head Golf Professional.
  • Provide excellent service, professional advice and assistance to all members.
  • Schedule and manage the backshop staff and assist in their training practices.
  • Provide golf instruction and clinics that are consistent with PGA of Canada instructional methods, policies and procedures.
  • Supervise, schedule and train golf shop personnel as directed by the Head Professional.
  • Assist in the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory, control, promotion and sales of merchandise.
  • Manage the club repair business.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
  • Be informed on, and promote all club activities and services.
  • Manage the handicap program.
  • Assist in planning and budgeting for the golf operations.
  • Assist in managing tournaments, leagues and outside events.
Qualifications
  • Class "A" Member in good standing with the PGA of Canada.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience at comparable facilities.
  • Access to transportation / own car an asset due to location.
Compensation
  • $800 weekly or commensurate based on experience for the successful candidate.
