Dalewood Golf Club is a semi-private year round facility offering the amenities of a prestigious urban club, located in North Cumberland County.
Dalewood was designed by renowned golf course architect Robbie Robinson and opened in 1974. Dalewood features a par 71 championship course with tee selections that offer a wide variety of playing yardages. The golf course offers great conditions and the natural hazards make it a very challenging game of golf.
Dalewood also boasts the most scenic banquet facility in the area; the Great Hall can accommodate up to 175 people and is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows offering splendid views of the golf course and countryside. The facility also offers a full service restaurant, bar, and barbecue patio area available to the public, members, and guests alike.

Position: Golf Course Superintendent Reports To: General Manager
This is a key position within the Golf Course Maintenance Department. Works directly with the General Manager to help develop a daily work schedule and coordinate the related activities and necessary equipment with the staff. Training, supervision and reviewing of golf course employees along with supervision of construction projects and specific maintenance activities on the golf course and club grounds, fall under the Superintendent’s duties.
- Responsibilities

- Responsible for all phases of golf course maintenance and agronomic operations, cost control and personnel.
- Plan, schedule and monitor all daily operations including insuring adequate staffing schedules for daily needs.
- Establish, promote and enforcing safety practices in accordance with regulations.
- Oversees the cleanliness of the golf course and club grounds.
- Stays in constant contact with the General Manager regarding controlling the budget.
- Record keeping for supplies, daily logs, application records, weather condition records and personnel records including verifying departmental staff time cards.
- Is capable in using the proper application of pesticides and fertilizers.
- Always communicates in a totally professional manner including to subordinates, management, other staff on property, suppliers, as well as member and other guests and potential guests.
- Competent to operate computerized irrigation control system, if applies.
- Performs tasks that are necessary to keep maintenance facility and equipment clean, organized and safe on a daily basis.
- Performs all functions and routine golf course maintenance activities as directed by the Golf Course Superintendent.
- Ensures that personal protective equipment is worn as prescribed and required.
- Perform basic irrigation head repairs, if necessary.
- Qualifications

- 3-5 Years experience as a Golf Course Superintendent.
- Possession of a current provincial pesticide applicator license.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to recognize safety hazards and apply proper safety protocol.
- Ability to assign and direct work to assigned associates.
- Experience with the operation and programming of an automated irrigation system.
- Ability to identify turf and other plant variations.
- Knowledge of golf course maintenance practices along with proper use of various fertilizers, herbicides and pest control methods and materials.
