Job Summary
The Golf Shop Attendant’s primary function is to assist with the daily operation of the golf course. His or her focus will be on properly checking-in guests and members for play, as well as booking in future rounds of golf and assisting with the organization and sales of merchandise. He or she will act as a guest service representative to all members and guests.
Responsibilities
  • Recognizes and greets all guests and team members first
  • Provides exceptional and professional service to our guests and team members
  • Ensures the well-being of our guests and team members by being alert to and reporting potential hazards
  • Models all Deerhurst Resort Standards while caring for the guests, co-workers and owners
  • Comfortable making responsible decisions and develops recommendations for effective problem solving
  • Booking Tee Times
  • Checks in golf guests and golf members
  • Counts and tracks incoming inventory of all pro shop merchandise
  • Answers Golf Shop telephones
  • Maintains an attractive, clean look to the Golf Shop
  • Informs the Head Professional of any items that need to be reordered
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of resort and its amenities
  • Maintains a professional appearance at all times
  • Completes special projects in a timely manner as requested
  • Help run all Men’s & Ladies Leagues and Special Events

  • Has effective communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  • Has exceptional phone manner
  • Has strong selling skills and has knowledge of golf shop merchandise
  • Able to handle cash with accuracy
  • Able to comfortably work with computers
  • Able to adapt in a fast pace, constant changing environment within a dynamic work schedule
  • Able to maintain composure and objectivity
  • Able to handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Is flexible with their schedule, able to work long hours, shift work, evenings, weekends and holidays as business levels require

Education & Experience

  • College Diploma an asset
  • Is already or is working towards becoming a member of the PGA of Canada
  • Knowledge of golf merchandise and golf equipment an asset
  • Previous experience at a golf course an asset
Compensation
  • $725 – $800 per week (5 day work week)
  • Junior Clinics & Private Lesson revenue available for the right candidate
