Head Teaching Professional - Ladies' Golf Club of Toronto

Founded in 1924 by Ada Mackenzie, Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto is currently celebrating its 100th anniversary. The club has recently made numerous improvements including a new halfway house (opened 2023), a recently enhanced driving range (2022), several new tee decks and greens (2022) and its iconic clubhouse is currently under an extensive and exciting renovation. The golf course is a Stanley Thompson gem comprised of 20 holes, including both 9 and 18-hole routings with six tee options to choose from. Practice facilities include the recently renovated range, short game area, putting green, warm-up nets, and a very active winter academy with a Trackman studio.

Job Summary

We are currently seeking an energetic, passionate, and experienced Head Teaching Professional (HTP) to join our team in this year-round, full-time role. Reporting to the Head Golf Professional, the HTP will lead the Ladies’ Golf Academy, developing and providing best-in-class private lessons, and group learning experiences to members and non-members, alike.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and administer all academy programs (group learning), and private coaching programs and lessons.
  • Provide leadership to and mentorship to assistant professionals and seasonal staff.
  • Develop member and non-member Academy communications.
  • Create Golf Shop and Golf Operations schedules.
  • Collaborate with other Ladies’ team members and participants in daily organization and communication, promotion, and marketing of all LGA Programs and lesson offerings.
  • Develop, organize, and implement junior programs including camps and clinics.
  • Active in club fitting, sales, and basic club repair.
  • Actively promote Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto Golf Academy within the community and the golf industry.
  • Create a warm, welcoming, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for all.
  • Playing golf with members and relationship building through member events and trips.
  • Management of Academy participant database and tracking student progress.
Qualifications
  • Class ‘A’ Member of the PGA of Canada
  • 5 Years of Teaching Experience & PGA Teaching Specialization is preferred.
  • Proven leadership and development of instructional programs for all skill levels.
  • Outgoing and approachable demeanor.
  • Experience with TrackMan, Jonas, and Golf Genius Coach 360, and all social media platforms considered an asset.
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills to lead a high-volume and robust academy.
  • Strong desire and drive to delivery exceptional experiences.
  • Dedicated to ongoing personal and professional growth, development, and improvement.
Compensation
Commensurate with experience, to be negotiated.
