PGA of Ontario elects Brenden Parsons as President

Markham, ON -- The PGA of Ontario is pleased to announce that Mr. Brenden Parsons, Executive Professional at Listowel Golf Club will be stepping up as the new President of the Association, effective immediately. This will be Brenden's sixth year serving on the Board of Directors.

As a highly accomplished golf professional with an impressive track record, Parsons brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the business of golf.

"Our team is thrilled to see Brenden assume this role and we believe he will bring a welcome perspective to his position as President", said Melanie van der Hoop, PGA of Ontario's Executive Director. “He has been a valuable asset to our leadership team for the past several years, and we have much to gain from his diverse experience, his down-to-earth character, and his willingness to stand for what he believes in. Brenden is an effective communicator, and an advocate for change which will serve him well as he helps to navigate our future. I look forward to working more closely with him for the duration of his term.”

Having previously served as the finance chair, followed by his two years serving as Vice President, Parsons is well-versed in the Association's operations and values.

"I am excited to work closely with our talented team in the office led by Executive Director Melanie van der Hoop, our diverse and knowledgeable Board of Directors, and our industry partners to enhance the experience and position of our association while continuing to promote and grow the opportunities for PGA of Canada Professionals throughout our Zone."

Parsons also credited the work of his predecessors as he takes on this new challenge.

“I have learned a great deal from my time on the executive team with President Michael Moniz and Past-President Simon Bevan. Both have been outstanding role models and true assets to the Board, and membership of our Zone", Parsons added.

The Board of Directors and the operational staff would like to thank Michael Moniz for his dedication serving as President of the Association for the past two years. His efforts, time, and enthusiasm towards our Association have been pivotal in guiding us toward a strong foundation for the future.
