PGA of Ontario Remembers David Shock

We are saddened to share the passing of PGA of Ontario Class "A" Life Professional, Mr. David Shock (1944-2023).

After a short courageous battle against cancer, Dave passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe. Dave was the loving friend and husband of Leslie (nee Jones) for almost 49 years; and beloved father of Peter and daughter-in-law Sangita. Brother of Donald Lodge and Murray Lodge. Brother-in-law of Brian Jones (Kori), Ronald Jones (Kathy), Warren Jones (Dianne) and Raymond Jones; and uncle of many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Dave will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, and for his passion for playing golf. As the former Head Professional at King’s Forest G.C. in Hamilton for 28 years, Dave was a friend, a teacher and a mentor to many. Dave enjoyed teaching and encouraged many to discover golf and to develop their skills in the game. Dave was blessed by the many friends he made throughout his life.

The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and nurses who worked so hard to try and save his life. As per Dave’s wishes, he was cremated. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.

If desired, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Miller Funeral Chapel, Caledonia.
