PGA of Ontario Remembers - Joseph Pacione

We are saddened to share the passing of PGA of Ontario Head Professional, Mr. Joseph Pacione (1968-2026).

Pacione, Joseph Robert, unexpectedly passed away on a golf trip to Pinehurst on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at age 57. Joe, beloved husband of Colleen of 32 years. Loving dad of Kristyn (Shawn Thomson) and Nick (Rhiannon Tushingham). Dear son of Anna and Nick Pacione. Dear brother of Sara (Carmen Lafrate). Loving Zio of Sophia and Domenic. Dear brother-in-law of Jackie (Glenn Moriarty). Loving uncle of Jenna and Gavin. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends.

Joe enjoyed a long and meaningful career as a Golf Professional, distinguished above all by the way he treated others. He formed lasting friendships with members and colleagues alike, and over time those relationships extended well beyond the course, leading to shared traditions, memorable stories, and many cherished golf trips.

He also had a deep love for travel, always wanting to explore, whether it was to British Columbia to take in the mountains and towering trees or a warm, sunny destination where he could relax, sip a drink at the swim up bar, and enjoy the moment. Wherever he went, he brought a smile and an easy way of turning strangers into friends.

Although he played his last round on April 8th, 2026, the game that shaped so much of his life will continue to carry his presence in the friendships he built, the lessons he passed on, and on the courses he called home. 

Family and friends will be received at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (North of Hwy 2) 647-793-8189 for a visitation on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 6-8 pm. A Memorial Service will be held in the Mount Lawn Chapel on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11am and doors will open one hour prior. Interment will proceed the Memorial Service at Mount Lawn Cemetery. Friends and family are also invited to a Celebration of Life at Wyndance Golf Club, 450 Durham Regional Rd 21, Uxbridge, (905) 649-8545 from 1:30-3:30pm.
