PGA of Ontario Remembers Ken Tarling

A PGA of Canada member for 41-years, Ken had a high level of personal achievement as a Tour Professional, Instructor, and Club Professional. Ken was the head professional in Ontario at Sawmill Golf Club, The Links of Rockway Glen and Donalda Golf Club spanning over 14 years.

Throughout his career, Ken had accumulated 147 Professional Tournament Victories including three Canadian National Championships, and 29 Ontario Provincial Championships in eight different countries with 26 competitive course records.

Ken served as the President of the Canadian Tour, was a member of the PGA of Canada Board of Directors and taught at Humber College in the Professional Golf Management program. In 2012, he received an Honorary Life Membership with the Canadian Tour and in 2017, Ken was inducted into the Ontario Golf Hall of Fame.

Ken had taken ill while playing in Australia and was diagnosed with lesions on the brain caused by melanoma in April. He ceased treatment at the beginning of August to spend quality time with his family at home.

Ken will be missed by all who knew him, and tournament golf will not be the same without him.

Our sincere condolences go out to Ken’s wife Tina, children, Lindsey and Kevin, and granddaughter Brooklynn.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge on Wednesday, October 11 at 1:00 pm, with visitation held an hour prior at 12 noon.
