PGA of Ontario Renews Partnership with GOLFTEC

The PGA of Ontario is pleased to announce our renewed partnership with GOLFTEC. This year they transition their support to become presenting sponsor of the Ontario Zone Championship which returns to Barrie Country Club on July 11th and 12th.

As an employer of 70 PGA of Canada Professionals, GOLFTEC pairing up with the PGA of Ontario for this specific event is a natural fit. The GOLFTEC team will also be introducing a fun new initiative following Round One of our Zone Championship on July 11th. They will be hosting a Superskins competition for the first 20 pros who sign up.

The layout of the Superskins competition is as follows:

20 Players – 6 Holes (train track course)
First 20 pros to register please email Kristine Schmidt to reserve your place.
Entry $20 per player – 100% goes to the skins pot.
GOLFTEC – contributes $1000 to skins
    Total Pot: $1400!!

Skins Payout: Two tie, all tie, cash is carried over.
Closest to the hole for birdie putts out first.

    Holes 1 & 2: $150 per hole
    Holes 3 & 4: $225 per hole
    Holes 5 & 6: $325 per hole
6th hole: if not won outright, only low ties carry on to 7th.
7th hole: only low ties carry on to 8 if not won outright.

Winners will be paid cash right after the hole on the course!

"We were looking for something fun to do outside of the customary handshake with the sponsors on the first tee" said Steve Rodriguez, Head Teaching Professional at GOLFTEC Whitby and Markham. "We feel this is a perfect way to engage our members in an exciting format and get to know the players on a more personal level".

Melanie van der Hoop, Executive Director of the PGA of Ontario agrees.

"We're thrilled that we have been able to extend our partnership with GOLFTEC", says Van der hoop. "We have been growing with them and supporting each other for a few years now and we're really pleased with the way our partnership continues to transition to better support our mutual stakeholders. This activation is an exciting opportunity for our pros to win some money and get to know their awesome team as well as the career opportunities GOLFTEC provides."
