PGA of Ontario Welcomes New Board Member

A message from the President: 

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to extend gratitude to all PGA of Ontario members who expressed interest in becoming a Board member. We received an impressive number of applications from qualified candidates across the Zone. We continue to see record levels of interest and engagement in joining the Board of Directors and our Committees of the Board, and we truly appreciate your enthusiasm for serving this Association. 

While this is never an easy decision, we are confident that the selected candidate will serve our Members and represent the Zone with dedication and integrity.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome our new Board member, Dan Roud. Dan Roud is the PGA Head Professional at Lookout Point Country Club, where he has helped shape a golf experience defined by strong hospitality, collaborative leadership, and a respect for club tradition.

A PGA of Canada Class "A" Professional, and graduate of the Professional Golf Management program at Niagara College, Dan brings a modern, team-oriented approach to club operations.

In recent years, he has worked closely with Lookout Point’s Board and management team to help support the club and guide the membership through several key projects — including a full-course bunker renovation, large-scale tree removal, green renovations, and the celebration of the club’s 100th anniversary in 2022.

His focus on communication, consistency, and culture has been central to supporting the club’s continued growth.

Dan also serves as Regional Director – International East for the Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM), supporting professionals across Canada and Europe in the areas of education, retail strategy, and business development. 

He is especially passionate about mentoring the next generation of PGA professionals and advocating for stronger collaboration between clubs, management teams, and PGA members at every level of the industry. 

Dan lives in St. Catharines with his wife Jess, and three children — Peyton, Layla, and Kaden — and takes great pride in balancing professional life with the everyday rewards of fatherhood.

“I’m honoured to join the PGA of Ontario Board of Directors and bring a collaborative leadership style that advocates for our professionals — especially those coming up in the industry. I’m proud to bring a Niagara voice to the table while working to support PGA professionals across the province.

It’s a privilege to be part of such a talented group of professionals, and I look forward to working alongside fellow members who are committed to elevating our industry. It’s a privilege to serve, and I’m excited for the opportunity to learn, lead, and give back.”

Dan is well regarded in the industry, valued for his insight and commitment to excellence.

The board is very excited to welcome Dan, who will undoubtedly offer a fresh perspective to our dynamic group. He represents the Niagara chapters of our Zone and will play a key role in shaping the future of our Association for all our members.
