Surrounded by the love of his children, Herb Rudney (83) passed away peacefully from complications of prostate cancer on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Kelly, Michael (Christy), and David (Jessica); his grandson, Lucas; Gloria; his sister, Florence; and many other relatives and dear friends.
Herb was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mary; his sister, Mary; his brother, Edward; and his brothers-in-law, Roger and Ralph.
Herb was a dedicated golf teaching professional who shared his passion and love for the game with everyone around him. He will be remembered for his warm, playful sense of humour, his enjoyment of coffee dates with friends, and his ability to hold meaningful conversations for hours on just about any topic. He also had a keen eye for a great thrift store find and found joy in listening to classical music, whether on the radio or during his daily drives to the golf course or range.
A special thank you to David and Jessica for their care and support over the past few months, and to the many friends who stood by Herb with kindness and support during his time of need.
Cremation has taken place, and his Celebration of Life will be held on July 6, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Elmira Golf Course.
