2022 PGA of Ontario Class "A" Professional of the Year

2022 PGA of Canada Tex Noble Professional Development Award

I started as a backshop employee at Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto and joined the PGA of Canada in 2015. I was an Assistant at Ladies' from 2015 to 2018, then became an Associate at the end of 2018 until 2020.  In 2021, I joined the team at Rosedale Golf Club as one of the Associate Professionals.

1.  What did it mean for you to be the recipient of two (Class "A" Professional and Professional Development) awards this past season?

It is an unbelievable feeling and I wanted to win one of them in the 2022 season. If you put your mind to something, hard work and determination pays off in the end. I want to support our association as much as possible by helping each other grow as professionals and as a community. Winning a National Award was truly special to me because we believed in something (creating AoT Networking) four years ago and it has grown to be a driving force in our off-season months as professionals.

2. What do you hope to accomplish this season in your respective field?

I hope to look at where my opportunities and areas of growth are lacking and keep on improving them to become a better professional. It is important to self-reflect at the start of each season and see where you can improve and become better as a leader. The hardest part is to keep working on those areas when it is busy and take the time to keeping growing.

3.    What are some of your long-term goals in the golf industry?

My long-term goal is to share my pathway, career, and my story to future generations when I am Head Professional at a club one day, and demonstrate how working hard pays off. I hope I can take my learning experiences from when I was an Assistant and Associate and help others reach other goals and create opportunities. Everyone's career path is different and each of us will find our own pathway soon enough if we keep striving towards our goals!
