It isn’t easy to assess a person’s skills and how they will fit into your organization during an interview. You can, however, most accurately predict how a person will perform the job by understanding how the candidate has handled similar work situations in the past. This session will provide you with tips on how to design an interview to evaluate the candidate’s experience, skills and suitability for both the job and your organizational culture using behavioural-based interview questions. It will also focus on building awareness of implicit bias to ensure equal and fair access to diverse candidates.
We’ll explore:
- common interview formats and pros and cons of each
- why building trust and rapport with a candidate is of vital importance
- how our implicit bias can affect our perception, and how to ensure a fair process
- the power of open-ended and behavioural-based questions and examples that you can use
- assessing a candidates' values, ethics and mindset
* This is a 2 part series
PGA of Ontario members in good standing attending the webinar in real-time will receive 3 Professional Recognition Program points.
