ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to all PGA of Ontario Members in good standing

  • Priority will be given to PGA of Ontario members until Sunday, September 29th, at which point if spots are remaining, they will be awarded to out-of-zone members residing in Ontario on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are an out-of-zone player interested in competing, please contact Kristine Schmidt at kristine@pgaofontario.com to be put on a wait list.

  • Each team will consist of three PGA of Ontario Members.

CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD
The championship will be played over all 27 holes at Glencairn.  The field for 2024 will be a maximum of 48 teams of three.  144 players in total.

APPLICATION FEE & PROCEDURE

  1. All players must register individually.
  2. All applications must be filed through your online member account or on the official application printed from www.pgaofontario.com.
  3. The application fee (see fee schedule below) must accompany the application plus applicable taxes.

ENTRY FEE SCHEDULE

  1. All entry fees are subject to HST, HST# R106865660)*
  2. All applications must be received by the PGA of Ontario, 10080 Kennedy Road, Markham, ON L6C 1N9 prior to Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 23:59 pm EDT (Eastern Daylight Time).
  3. Entries will not be accepted without full remittance of an entry fee.
  4. THE PGA OF ONTARIO ACCEPTS THE FOLLOWING CARDS: VISA, VISA DEBIT, MASTERCARD

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

Cancellation/Refund Policy – No refund will be provided after the tournament/event tee sheet has been released to the players and/or posted on the PGA of Ontario website. Please note this means that regardless of the circumstance, a refund cannot be provided once a player commences play.

A refund may be provided in the following circumstances:

  1. A full refund will be provided if a player withdraws from the event due to medical reasons no later than 10:00 am on the Friday before the event. The refund will be issued once the PGA of Ontario office receives a doctor’s note.
     
  2. A full or partial refund will be provided due to extenuating circumstances, at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. The PGA of Ontario Tournament Committee will review all submitted supporting documents to provide a fair and equitable resolution in a timely manner.
     
  3. A full refund will be provided if the cancelling player/team finds an eligible* PGA of Ontario member/team to take their place.
  • It is the cancelling player’s/team’s responsibility to find an eligible* PGA of Ontario member/team to replace them and notify the PGA of Ontario office no later than 24 hours before the event starts.  
  • The cancelling player’s/team’s refund will be processed once the replacement player/team has paid their entry fee in full.
  • If the cancelling player’s spot is NOT filled 24 hours prior to the event’s start time, a refund will not be issued.

HOST FACILITY

FORMAT
3 PERSON SCRAMBLE. In selecting the position to be played, from everywhere but on the putting green-mark the position, balls to be placed within one scorecard length of that position, no closer to the hole, without changing medium (i.e. rough to fairway, fringe to green, etc.) On the putting green, balls to be played from the exact position.

YARDAGES

  • Men, 59 Under 6,800 yards maximum
  • Men, 60+ 6,500 yards maximum
  • Women, 59 and Under 6,000 yards maximum  
  • Women, 60+ 5,800 yards maximum

PLAYOFFS
The Championship tie will be decided by a “sudden victory” playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. If still tied after 1 hole, the Championship will be decided by shootout from 100 yards. One shot per competitor, closest to the hole on the green are declared Champions.

CHECK-IN WITH TOURNAMENT CONVENOR
Players are asked to check in at the cluhouse no less than 15 minutes prior to the shotgun. 

CARTS AND ON-COURSE EQUIPMENT
Power carts are included.  Players must adhere to the host facility cart rules.

SPECIFICATIONS OF CLUBS AND THE BALL

  1. List of Conforming Driver Heads: Model Local Rule G-1 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  2. Groove and Punch Mark Specifications: Model Local Rule G-2 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  3. List of Conforming Golf Balls: Model Local Rule G-3 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a ball in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  4. Replacing Club that is Broken or Significantly Damaged – Model Local Rule G-9 is in effect.

TRANSPORTATION

Power carts are included. Players must adhere to the host facility cart rules.

TRAVEL
The PGA of Ontario assumes no responsibility for entrants' travel arrangements. The PGA of Ontario advises entrants not to book travel or room arrangements prior to confirmation of tournament acceptance unless those arrangements can be cancelled without penalty.

DRESS CODE
Competitors must adhere to the PGA of Ontario Dress Code which is also available in the competitor registration package. In addition, all golf shirts must be tucked in and hats pointed forward.

TIME OF STARTING
All players in a group must be present and READY TO PLAY at the time laid down by the Committee. The order of play is not relevant. READY TO PLAY is defined as being on or near the player's first tee accompanied with the necessary equipment needed to put a ball in play. Notification by a PGA of Ontario Rules Official will be given to late starters on the first tee or as soon as practicable.

ALCOHOL AND DRUG POLICY

Stroke Play Event Alcohol Policy

    The consumption of alcohol before or during any PGA of Ontario stroke play event or Playing Ability Test is strictly prohibited. Violation of this policy is considered conduct unbecoming of a Member of the PGA of Ontario, and swift penalty will be issued by the Tournament Captain and PGA of Ontario office.

Team Event Alcohol Policy

   The PGA of Ontario will allow the purchase of alcohol from the host facility during team events only. This policy will be reviewed following each event and if any issues arise (including, but not limited to, professional conduct, alcohol abuse, or liability), this policy will be revoked immediately. Penalties will be issued based on any Professional violating Liquor Laws, our Tournament Policy and/or the  PGA Code of Professional Conduct and Safe Sport Policy.

Drug Policy

    The PGA of Ontario will abide by each facility's drug policy.

ANTI-DOPING POLICY

The PGA of Ontario has adopted the Canadian Anti-Doping Program set by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport. For further information please visit www.cces.ca.
