ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to all PGA of Ontario Members in good standing and one junior guest.
     
  • Priority will be given to PGA of Ontario members until Sunday, June 22nd, 2025 at which point if spots are remaining, they will be awarded to out-of-zone members residing in Ontario on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are an out-of-zone player interested in competing, please please contact Kristine Schmidt at kristine@pgaofontario.com to be put on a wait list.
     
  • A team is to consist of one (1) PGA of Ontario member and one (1) Junior, 18 years of age and under by the tournament date. The Professional and junior do not have to be from the same facility.
     
  • Juniors MUST have a valid Golf Canada Handicap, which will need to be supplied to the PGA of Ontario

CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD

  • The championship field for 2025 will be comprised of a maximum of 40 teams of two.

APPLICATION SCHEDULE & ENTRY FEE PROCEDURE

  1. The registration deadline is Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 11:59 PM EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). Entries will not be accepted without full payment of the entry fee.
  2. All players must register individually. Applications can be submitted through your online member account by using the official application form available at www.pgaofontario.com.
  3. The application fee, as outlined in the fee schedule below, must be submitted along with applicable taxes. Please note that all entry fees are subject to HST (HST# R106865660).
  4. The PGA of Ontario accepts the following payment methods: VISA, VISA DEBIT, and MASTERCARD.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

  • Cancellation/Refund Policy – No refund will be provided after the tournament/event tee sheet has been released to the players and/or posted on the PGA of Ontario website. Please note this means that regardless of the circumstance, a refund cannot be provided once a player commences play.
     
  • A refund may be provided in the following circumstances:
  1. A full refund will be provided if a player withdraws from the event due to medical reasons no later than 10:00 am on the Friday before the event. The refund will be issued once the PGA of Ontario office receives a doctor’s note.
     
  2. A full or partial refund will be provided due to extenuating circumstances, at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. The PGA of Ontario Tournament Committee will review all submitted supporting documents to provide a fair and equitable resolution in a timely manner.
     
  3. A full refund will be provided if the cancelling player/team finds an eligible* PGA of Ontario member/team to take their place.
  • It is the cancelling player’s/team’s responsibility to find an eligible* PGA of Ontario member/team to replace them and notify the PGA of Ontario office no later than 24 hours before the event starts.  
  • The cancelling player’s/team’s refund will be processed once the replacement player/team has paid their entry fee in full.
  • If the cancelling player’s spot is NOT filled 24 hours prior to the event’s start time, a refund will not be issued.

  • Best-ball Stableford (Net & Gross)

YARDAGES

  • 6,475 yards –Professional (Men), Junior Boys U19 and Juvenile Boys U17
  • 6,163 yards Professional (Women), Bantam Boys U15, Junior Girls U19 & Juvenile Girls U17
  • 5,276 yards - Peewee Boys U13, Bantam Girls U15 & Peewee Girls U13

PLAYOFFS

  • In case of ties, there will be a 1-hole sudden victory playoff from the 9th hole.  If still tied, there will be a shootout from 150 yards from the hole just played.  One shot per competitor.  The closest to the hole on the green wins. All other ties will be broken by matching scorecards.

CARTS AND ON-COURSE EQUIPMENT

  • Power carts are included.  Players must adhere to the host facility cart rules.

CADDIES

  • Caddies are not permitted.

SPECTATORS

  • Spectators are welcome. Walking only.  

CHECK-IN WITH TOURNAMENT CONVENOR

  • Players are asked to check-in with the convenor no less than 15 minutes before the shotgun. 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

  • Continental breakfast before the round
  • Lunch following the round

SPECIFICATIONS OF CLUBS AND THE BALL

  1. List of Conforming Driver Heads: Model Local Rule G-1 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  2. Groove and Punch Mark Specifications: Model Local Rule G-2 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  3. List of Conforming Golf Balls: Model Local Rule G-3 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a ball in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  4. Replacing Club that is Broken or Significantly Damaged – Model Local Rule G-9 is in effect.

TRANSPORTATION

  • Competitors may walk or make arrangements with the host club for the use of a motorized golf cart. Players must adhere to the host facility cart rules.

TRAVEL

  • The PGA of Ontario assumes no responsibility for entrants' travel arrangements. The PGA of Ontario advises entrants not to book travel or room arrangements before confirmation of tournament acceptance unless those arrangements can be cancelled without penalty.

DRESS CODE

  • Competitors must adhere to the PGA of Ontario Dress Code which is also available in the competitor registration package. In addition, all golf shirts must be tucked in and hats pointed forward.

TIME OF STARTING

  • All players in a group must be present and READY TO PLAY at the time laid down by the Committee. The order of play is not relevant. READY TO PLAY is defined as being on or near the player's first tee accompanied with the necessary equipment needed to put a ball in play. Notification by a PGA of Ontario Rules Official will be given to late starters on the first tee or as soon as practicable.

ALCOHOL AND DRUG POLICY

Stroke Play Event Alcohol Policy

  • The consumption of alcohol before or during any PGA of Ontario stroke play event or Playing Ability Test is strictly prohibited. Violation of this policy is considered conduct unbecoming of a Member of the PGA of Ontario, and swift penalty will be issued by the Tournament Captain and PGA of Ontario office.

Team Event Alcohol Policy

  • The PGA of Ontario will allow the purchase of alcohol from the host facility during team events only. This policy will be reviewed following each event and if any issues arise (including, but not limited to, professional conduct, alcohol abuse, or liability), this policy will be revoked immediately. Penalties will be issued based on any Professional violating Liquor Laws, our Tournament Policy and/or the  PGA Code of Professional Conduct and Safe Sport Policy.

Drug Policy

  • The PGA of Ontario will abide by each facility's drug policy.

ANTI-DOPING POLICY

  • The PGA of Ontario has adopted the Canadian Anti-Doping Program set by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport. For further information please visit www.cces.ca.
