ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to all PGA of Ontario Members in good standing.  
     
  • Priority will be given to PGA of Ontario members until Sunday, May 31, 2026 at which point if spots are remaining, they will be awarded to out-of-zone members residing in Ontario on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are an out-of-zone player interested in competing, please contact Kristine Schmidt at kristine@pgaofontario.com to be put on a wait list.
     
  • SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP - Open to all PGA of Ontario Members in good standing - 36-hole stroke play, no cut
     
  • SENIORS' SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP (50+) – Players who have reached their 50th birthday by June 8, 2026. The Seniors' Spring Championship will be played from the same yardage (6,500) as the Spring Championship and will be eligible for Senior Player of the Year Points – 36-hole stroke play without a cut.
     
  • WOMEN’S SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP – Open to all PGA of Ontario Women professionals in good standing. This championship will be contested from approximately 5,600 – 5,800 yards. If the Women's Spring Championship does not meet the required three-player minimum, the player may choose to compete in the Championship field and compete at 75-85% of the total yardage.
     
  • SENIOR SPRING DIAMOND DIVISION (70+) – Players who have reached their 70th birthday by June 8, 2026. This division will be contested from approximately 5,600 – 5,800 yards. Members who choose to enter the Senior Spring Diamond division are ineligible to accumulate Senior Player of the Year points.
     
  • The Women’s Spring Championship and the Senior Spring Diamond Division (70+) &  are an 18-hole stroke play competition that will take place on Monday, June 8th.
     
  • Note: If there are fewer than three entrants for the Women's Spring Championship or Senior Spring Diamond Division (70+)  by the entry deadline, the player may choose to compete in the 36-hole Championship field.

CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD

  • The 2026 Spring Championship field will be comprised of a maximum of 120 players, inclusive of one exemption spot for the defending champion. Entries will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.

APPLICATION SCHEDULE & ENTRY FEE PROCEDURE

  1. The registration deadline is Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). Entries will not be accepted without full payment of the entry fee.
     
  2. All players must register individually. Applications can be submitted through your online member account by using the official application form available at www.pgaofontario.com.
     
  3. The application fee, as outlined in the fee schedule below, must be submitted along with applicable taxes. Please note that all entry fees are subject to HST (HST# R106865660).
     
  4. The PGA of Ontario accepts the following payment methods: VISA, VISA DEBIT, and MASTERCARD.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

  • Cancellation/Refund Policy – No refund will be provided after the tournament/event tee sheet has been released to the players and/or posted on the PGA of Ontario website. Please note this means that regardless of the circumstance, a refund cannot be provided once a player commences play.
     
  • A refund may be provided in the following circumstances:
  1. A full refund will be provided if a player withdraws from the event due to medical reasons no later than 10:00 am on the Friday before the event. The refund will be issued once the PGA of Ontario office receives a doctor’s note.
     
  2. A full or partial refund will be provided due to extenuating circumstances, at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. The PGA of Ontario Tournament Committee will review all submitted supporting documents to provide a fair and equitable resolution in a timely manner.
     
  3. A full refund will be provided if the cancelling player/team finds an eligible* PGA of Ontario member/team to take their place.
  • It is the cancelling player’s/team’s responsibility to find an eligible* PGA of Ontario member/team to replace them and notify the PGA of Ontario office no later than 24 hours before the event starts.  
  • The cancelling player’s/team’s refund will be processed once the replacement player/team has paid their entry fee in full.
  • If the cancelling player’s spot is NOT filled 24 hours prior to the event’s start time, a refund will not be issued.

YARDAGES

  • SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP - Open to all PGA of Ontario Members in good standing - 36-hole stroke play with no cut from a maximum of 6,600 yards. Women playing in the Championship field (36 holes) will compete at 75-85% of the total yardage.
     
  • SENIORS' SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP (50+) – This championship will play the same yardage as the open field from a maximum of 6,600 yards.
     
  • WOMEN’S SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP – This championship will be contested from a maximum of 5,900 yards
     
  • SENIOR SPRING DIAMOND DIVISION (70+) This division will be contested from a maximum of 5,900 yards

PACE OF PLAY POLICY

  • To enhance the experience for all competitors, the PGA of Ontario Pace of Play Policy sets clear expectations for round timing, group positioning, and consequences for slow play.

PLAYOFFS

  • A tie for the Championship will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. Any competitor involved in a playoff and not immediately available assumes the last playoff position. Multiple no-shows for playoffs shall be decided by lot.

PRIZE MONEY – TIES

  • In the event of ties, prize money will be divided equally among those tied, except that if a competitor wins a playoff for the Championship, that player will receive first-place prize money.

CHECK-IN WITH TOURNAMENT CONVENOR

  • Players are asked to check in at the 1st tee no less than 5 minutes before their tee time

CARTS AND ON-COURSE EQUIPMENT

  • Competitors may walk or make arrangements with the host club for the use of a motorized golf cart. 
     
  • Carts are not included. Players must adhere to the host facility cart rules.
     
  • A two-cart per-group rule is in effect.
     
  • Power carts are available in the shop for $20 plus HST per rider.
     
  • A limited number of push carts are available at no charge

FOOD & BEVERAGE

  • Food and beverage will not be offered as part of the event

SPECIFICATIONS OF CLUBS AND THE BALL

  1. List of Conforming Driver Heads: Model Local Rule G-1 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  2. Groove and Punch Mark Specifications: Model Local Rule G-2 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  3. List of Conforming Golf Balls: Model Local Rule G-3 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a ball in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  4. Replacing Club that is Broken or Significantly Damaged – Model Local Rule G-9 is in effect.

TRAVEL

  • The PGA of Ontario assumes no responsibility for entrants' travel arrangements. The PGA of Ontario advises entrants not to book travel or room arrangements before confirmation of tournament acceptance unless those arrangements can be cancelled without penalty.

DRESS CODE

TIME OF STARTING

  • All players in a group must be present and READY TO PLAY at the time laid down by the Committee. The order of play is not relevant. READY TO PLAY is defined as being on or near the player's first tee accompanied with the necessary equipment needed to put a ball in play. Notification by a PGA of Ontario Rules Official will be given to late starters on the first tee or as soon as practicable.

ALCOHOL AND DRUG POLICY

Stroke Play Event Alcohol Policy

  • The consumption of alcohol before or during any PGA of Ontario stroke play event or Playing Ability Test is strictly prohibited. Violation of this policy is considered conduct unbecoming of a Member of the PGA of Ontario, and swift penalty will be issued by the Tournament Captain and PGA of Ontario office.
     
  • Penalties will be issued based on any professional violating Liquor Laws, our Tournament Policy and/or the PGA Code of Professional Conduct and Safe Sport Policy.

Drug Policy

  • The PGA of Ontario will abide by each facility's drug policy.

ANTI-DOPING POLICY

  • The PGA of Ontario has adopted the Canadian Anti-Doping Program set by Sport Integrity Canada. For further information please visit www.sportintegrity.ca
