The PGA of Canada is pleased to announce the national championship schedule for the 2023 season

Will Bigwin Island be the site of the biggest win of David Sheman’s career? After setting a competitive course record on Tuesday with a 63, which included two front-nine eagles, the Aurora, Ontario teaching professional is well on his way, taking a four-stroke lead into the final round of the BetRegal PGA Championship of Canada.

109 PGA of Canada professionals from across the country have gathered in Langley, BC this week looking to claim one of the country’s biggest professional events; the PGA Assistants’ Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf.

With top-of-the-line facilities, well-manicured courses and a rich golf history, Québec boasts several of Canada’s most renowned clubs. Jean-Hubert Trahan has spent time at two during his professional journey: Royal Québec and Laval-sur-le-Lac.

Amaya Athill fondly remembers competing in a regional competition in St. Kitts as a junior golfer. Antigua, her home country, defeated their longstanding sporting rival at the adult, senior, and junior levels. For Athill, the highlight of the competition wasn’t the victory; but the celebration that followed.

Even in his high school playing days Keaghan Roberts considered himself a student of the game of golf.

Doing the little things will, very often, turn into big rewards.  

With David Li Sheman entering the final round of the BetRegal PGA Championship of Canada at Bigwin Island with a four-stroke lead, Kevin Stinson knew it was going to take something special on Tuesday afternoon to follow up his 2022 PGA Assistants’ Championship win with another trophy in hand.

Even when Wes Heffernan doesn’t quite have his best stuff, he has the talent to score his way around a golf course and put himself in contention, which is just what he did on Tuesday at The Ranch Golf & Country Club just outside Edmonton, AB.
