Dylan Cattanach of Rosedale Golf Club was sitting in the lobby of the Hyatt (you know the one) alongside Mike Johnston and Justin O’Leary, both, at the time, of Cedar Brae Golf Club. While they debated the merits of sand versus tan shades of khaki on the sea of golf pros in front of them, they realized something important, and a little jarring – they didn’t know anyone.

This was the start of something really special for women of the PGA of Ontario - you could feel it in the air at the 2021 Ontario Women's Zone Championship at Ladies' Golf Club of Toronto.

Christine Wong found herself in tears after hearing her name called out as the recipient of the Brooke Henderson Female Player of the Year Award at the 2021 PGA of Canada National Awards. It was only a few years earlier that Wong vowed she was done with the sport.

Over the last several weeks, the PGA of Ontario has called for volunteers both within and outside our PGA network to form the new Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Group. Since then, our team has conducted a comprehensive selection process based on the responses we received through submitted applications.
