Enhance your practical understanding of the Rules of Golf and tournament administration at the 2026 PGA of Ontario Rules & Tournament Administration Education Session, delivered in partnership with Golf Ontario. This in-person workshop is designed specifically for PGA of Ontario Professionals and provides hands-on, applicable knowledge for those responsible for planning and delivering club-level competitions.
Led by Golf Ontario staff and nationally certified Golf Canada Rules Referees, this comprehensive session will focus on the application of the Rules of Golf in everyday club environments, along with proven best practices in event administration, course marking, and the effective use of Golf Genius.
Participants will leave with greater confidence in managing common rules situations, setting up competitions correctly, and delivering well-run, professional events that enhance the member experience.
This session is ideal for Head Professionals, Assistant Professionals, Teaching Professionals, and any PGA of Ontario Professional involved in organizing or supporting club championships, leagues, and member events.
Topics Include:
- Overview of key updates and common interpretations from the 2023 Rules of Golf
- Best practices for club event and championship administration
- Practical tips for Golf Genius setup and tournament operations
- Course marking for competitions (penalty areas, out of bounds, relief areas, etc.)
PGAO professionals in attendance will earn 9 Professional Recognition Program points for this event

- Entries will not be accepted without full remittance of an entry fee.

The Official Guide to the Rules of Golf book costs 35.00 plus HST. If you wish to purchase this book, please select the appropriate drop down option when registering. Please note, that it will NOT be available for purchase onsite.
PGA of Ontario members will be given priority access to register until Friday, February 20th, 2026. After that date, registration will open up to non-members and students on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are a non-member or student interested in attending, please reach out to Kristine Schmidt at kristine@pgaofontario.com to be added to the waitlist.
CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
A refund will be issued if the PGA of Ontario is advised at least 10 business days before the event.
A refund will NOT be issued if an attendee cancels within 10 business days in advance of the event unless a replacement is secured to fill the spot at least three business days in advance of the event.
In this case:
- The cancelling registrant must notify the PGA of Ontario office at least three business days before the event.
- If the PGA of Ontario maintains a waitlist for the event, members on the waitlist will be given the first opportunity to fill the available spot.
- If the PGA of Ontario does not have a waitlist, the cancelling registrant will be asked to provide the name and contact information of a potential replacement.
- A refund will be granted to the cancelling registrant once the replacement registrant has paid their entry fee.
- If a registrant cancels within three business days of the event, the PGA of Ontario reserves the right to deny a refund. We will make every effort to assist the cancelling registrant in finding a replacement, but we cannot guarantee that the spot will be filled.
Registration is only available to PGA of Canada members.
