From trying to bend “The King’s” putter in Westmount’s back shop to playing nine with big-haired rockers, one thing is sure: the stories Rob Strahan’s amassed during a half century in the golf industry are book-worthy. Reflecting on his storied career, Strahan, 61, gets emotional. At the end of the 2021 season, Westmount Golf & Country Club’s head professional retires—leaving behind the people and the place that have fuelled his passion for 41 years. 

The PGA Head Professional Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf and supported by G&G Brands is slated for this week in Phoenix, Arizona, where 82 of the top Head Professionals, Executive Professionals, Head Teaching Professionals and Master Professionals in the country will head to Verrado Golf Club, looking to be crowned as the final PGA of Canada National Champion of the season. “The dedication and the resilience that Landon has shown this season in dealing not only with the challenges of COVID protocols and operational changes, but also extensive flooding of both the golf course and his home, demonstrate his ability to persevere in the face of significant adversity,” Pritchard stated.  

The highly anticipated PGA Assistants’ Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf heads west to Edmonton, AB this week, where 111 of the country’s top players look to add to their 2023 resume.

From June 28 to July 1, 2022, Golf Château Bromont and the city of Bromont will be center stage for the ORORO PGA Women’s Championship of Canada at Bromont, which will be operated by Golf Québec and the PGA of Canada and will welcome up to 156 players. In addition to competing for the Lorie Kane Trophy, the winner will be offered a coveted exemption into the LPGA’s Canadian stop, the CP Women’s Open.
